Dear John,
 
I'm so sorry that I was unable to attend the memorial.  I appreciate that you invited me, and would have liked the opportunity to meet Henry's family and friends.  Also, I'm sure I would have heard great stories about an amazing person.  I was constantly moved by his determination to contiinue his work and unflagging determination in the face of a world that resisted new ideas.
 
Thank you for sending the memorial and the material from his life.  That's a fine thing for a son to do.  It brings memories of Henry and lots of pleasant thoughts.
